woodland cuties

I am helping to decorate my niece-to-be's nursery. We are going with a woodland theme and I have found so much lovely art along the way. I love the idea of having original artwork but of course that is expensive & takes time so yes, another reason to love all the makers at etsy, there is something for any theme you can think of.

color love

I have found myself admiring all the hoop embroidered wall art out there. It has such a great shape, texture & pop of color on your wall. I thought this would be cute in a baby or kids room. Colorful hand embroidered fireworks from On The Wall by Yoko.

brilliant words

I could not have said it better! These words are from the pretty blog, Lovely Clusters. There are so many reason's to love Etsy but you can't beat the work & uniqueness of a lovely handmade gift. We all have our needs from the local big box store but when it comes to a gift, knowing that it is made by hand makes it even better. Handmade may cost a little more but remember that little extra cost is because one person imagined it, developed it, loved it, had confidence in it & created it for you to love...I think that is worth every penny.

robbie moto leather

This Saint Paul, Minnesota based company makes some awesome wallets! RobbieMoto makes these beautiful, handcrafted leather lovelies. The colors are fantastic, the craftsmanship is impeccable & they just feel good in your hand. I saw them at the Renegade Craft Fair and for a really nice leather wallet they are reasonably priced.

oh, nancy drew

I was at a flea market this past weekend and stumbled across a set of these yellow spine beauty's. I passed them up but now I'm wishing I had snatched up one or two to read & covet. I once read all of the Nancy Drew books in my school library. I can't remember each mystery but for some reason "The Mystery of the 99 Steps" stands out...I guess I'll start there if I can find it. Check out all the fun Nancy Drew stuff out there:

Sol del Sur

I stumbled across this very cool bracelet on etsy a few days ago and couldn't stop thinking about it. So I checked out the Sol del Sur Shop. Soledad, the California creator, has so much fantastic stuff!
I love the mix of texture and color with metal. And I think these sweet lil' suede hearts are
just great...these are fresh and something different. Check out the Sol del Sur line.

a new addiction

So I was introduced to these interesting little air plants this summer. They are a great pop of greenery, they look like sculptured art work and they aren't easy to kill. I'm starting to feel like you can't have too many.

sweet little box

There is something about a sweet little box that I can't resist. I like to keep my favorite pieces in my favorite little places like these bright wood pixie ring boxes! I saw these boxes some time ago on the swiss miss blog (you should check it out!) and I keep finding myself going back to them to figure out who I can gift one of these little gems too. Hmmmm maybe a pink one with a little girl gift, dark blue with some cufflinks, red with some red earrings? The colors are great and I love the brights mixed with the salvaged wood- they really are little works of art.
