I stumbled across these great little postcard sets. Both reminded me of summer in different ways. Plus summer is a great time to enjoy the nice weather, sit on the patio and write all your pen pals.

These bright, sketchy, geometric designs are from Cotton & Flax. They are simple, no-nonsense postcards. Like a relaxing summer day plus I think anyone would enjoy receiving one of these.

another reason to love postcrossing

Look what showed up in the mail today! I did a mail swap with a Postcrossing friend in Belarus. I expected a letter & she had mentioned a magnet but look at all the thought that went in to this sweet gift. In addition to the fun map drawn on the envelope and the lovely Belarus postage stamps she also included: a handwritten note, a translation of phrases I can use (I love to ask for anything I can learn along the way), 2 bank notes that show: National Theater of Opera & Ballet & a Soviet WWII monument, 2 postcards, a stick of gum, a fridge magnet & a used bus ticket. I love that these pieces came from her daily life in addition to things she found. This made my day.

Egg Press makes some great letterpress cards, I love this one because you make your own message; I chose a simple "hey! hey! HEY!" for my east coast pen pal. Plus the envelope is vellum so you can see the color & design the second you get your mail. I decorated mine with a little washi tape and voila a little snail mail gift!

I am trying my best to send one card a week. It has been so fun searching for new cards, discovering old ones and laughing out loud at the unexpected cards you can find. Well this card from Red Camper made me laugh out loud while standing in the adorable Paper Doll store. Then I had to buy it for my gluten-free friend. How cute is Timmy?

I always gravitate to the work of Angela Adams. I find myself picking up her stuff in stores, inadvertently finding things on-line & complimenting others on what always turns out to be something from Angela Adams. Well I am definitely a fan of Egg Press and love that they got together and worked out some lovely stationery, letter-pressed goodness. I love this as a "just because" note.

Oh, this card reminded me of spending time with my friend in a Paris cafe and it made me laugh. I thought this was a great way to drop her a hello via snail mail. Love this lil' cafe monkey from Night Owl Paper Goods.

I bought this adorable little card from my favorite local Chicago store, Hazel. This card is from South Korean company: Millimeter Millagram inc. I thought this would put a smile on my friend's face when she opened it but even the outside is adorable!
