My brother spent many hours creating a delicious brisket to eat (man was it tasty!). I figured what better way to thank him than with this lil' piggy! Lil' piggy card from egg press.

fun with tape

I was stumbling through this great site, omoionline.com, and was enamored but all the fun tape and tape accessories. I just love the poulain ruler box to hold all riff raff on my desk. Washi tape is so great to have around for sealing envelopes, or adding a special touch to a gift but it's so cute all by itself. This Philadelphia based shop has some great stuff I haven't seen anywhere else, it's definitely worth the clickin through.

i am a journal junkie, can i give you a journal?

I love a good journal. I never leave home without my favorite journal of the moment and fill it up with everything I need to remember along with my daily to-do list. This journal from Compendium is full of surprises, I opened it up to find some of the pages have these great, sketchy, bright, hand lettered looking quotes. Not only are the quotes & artwork fun but practical- it makes it easy to find your page spot plus promotes your own positivity as you use it! Don't we all need a little positive reinforcement? Well we (Compendium & I) would love this notebook to be yours!  Yes, our first giveaway! It's easy, just respond to this post.

color love today

I'm lovin' this teal and yellow color pairing today. It feels fresh, vibrant and fun. And well yes, it does make me remember my krimped hair, teal sweater paired with a yellow turtle neck in my sixth grade school picture! But these are some much cooler ways to use this lovely color pallet.

pop of sollis style

Thanks to The Design Files I got to see this amazing line! I am really excited about these colors, the texture & the unique craftsmanship of this Australian jewelry line from www.sollisjewellery.com. Each piece is handmade with traditional techniques to create these modern accessories. I am in love with the large lace necklace (surprisingly the only one without color) but I would love to wear or give any of these pieces. shop at Sollis Jewellery

Golden Cat Studios hand embroiders these little works of art that you can pin on anything you like (do you still have your girl scout sash?). There is an ice cream merit badge, this cute typewriter, coffee lover, i love the arrows...so many to choose from!

i heart pantone

Remember the big ol' box of crayola crayons when you were a kid? Well pantone is the designers version of that big ol' box of crayons. I don't know what it is but I just love the accessories, it's simple, it's classic, it's colorful. Their products are well designed and well made. The hardest part is choosing "your" color. AND- I am not a barbie girl or a pink-kinda-girl but PANTONE BARBIE! awesome. There is something for everyone who uses pantone in their world. www.pantone.com

Ain't she cute?

Through my work I have had the chance to work with some brilliant creative minds and well this is an ode to one while the other brought it to life. Amber, of a.favorite design, is not only a great friend but she has built a business and well she is a letterpress superhero. Michelle, of www.michelleeatough.com, is an amazing illustrator & designer. I had this idea and with a little brainstorming help, I had a vision. A gift for our resident letterpress superhero, Michelle illustrated & designed this lovely lady just for amber so I could give her this fun birthday gift. Oh and I can't forget the oddball press card, it might be my all-time favorite card to give- I love the vintage showgirls!

flowers that i even like

I like to get flowers, I like to give flowers, I like to grow flowers but I'm not the type to wear flowers. There has been this floral trend everywhere lately, I love it on others but it's just not my personal style so I tried to find some floral with an edge.

don't we all need some back to school supplies?

I love back to school time, it's always fun to peruse the new school stuff and the old favorites (like crayola crayons, sharpies & fruit scented markers). I think that is why I am so drawn to this new work-inspired line right now from Compendium. These will definitely add some color to your space without being too distracting. The geometric designs are great and I am really liking this teal-gold color pallet but my favorite thing about this line is the lovely quotes. Every piece in the line has a different quote. The work inspired line can be purchased at live-inspired.

some metal lovliness

"Primordial artifact meets futuristic fashion" is the way Carrie Bilbo describes her unique work. I think that is the perfect way to describe this modern, nature-inspired, jewelry line. It is sculptured art you can wear. These are some amazing statement pieces, I am loving the "Bark Ring" but I love to look through all her pieces and hope to one day add one to my personal collection. You can view her work at www.carriebilbo.com or shop here.

stationery love: hammerpress

I adore Hammerpress' unique and distinct style. I was looking for a simple congrats card and this one fit the bill. I needed to congratulate my sister-in-law's mother for passing the test to become a citizen! She studied hard and since I couldn't find an American flag leaning card in August I thought this simple congrats was perfect.

etsy love today: pop chart lab

I'm kinda geekin out over these great prints from Pop Chart Lab. This Brooklyn design collective has put a modern twist on text book charts. From rap names, to beer to the history of Apple, there is something that can catch your attention. I love the thought and humor that is put into these plus they're a great show piece. This would be a perfect conversation piece to hang in your office or a great guy gift for the gamer, comic book lover, beer aficionado, techy, music lover, or chef. Check them out on etsy or there is even more on their website.

1. Grand Taxonomy of Rap Names
2. The Very, Very Many Varieties of Beer
3. The Illustrious Omnibus of Superpowers...love this name!
4. Pie Charts (A Bakers Dozen)
5. A Splendiferous Array of Culinary Tools
6. The Insanely Great History of Apple

typewriter: a noble cause i think

I have recently found a new respect/love for the good ol' typewriter. I know it's not practical but how cool is this lovely red Royal typewriter? I don't know if it's the technology era of touch screen, admiration for Mad Men or the impeccable design of these beauties but it makes me want one of my own. Well the lovely ladies of Uppercase Magazine have gathered some amazing typewriter swag and compiled a book using these great ads. So the only hitch is that Uppercase is still working to publish this gem and need your help...so check this out and hopefully we can all get a copy of The Typewriter: a Graphic History of the Beloved Machine soon!

I love these great old school ads, man they don't make em' like this anymore!
all photos & ads are kindly taken for use from Uppercase Magazine. thanks.

aces in helvetica, yes please!

So here's a little tidbit, 90% of the time I have a deck of cards with me...just in case someone is up for playing, I'm always game. I love these CMYK, Helvetica cards- fun, cool & easy to find in the game closet (or the bottom of my purse). I found these in my inbox from fab.com, you can check them out here.

beautiful design + beer = love

Hammerpress is an amazing letterpress company out of Kansas City. Their work is unique, distinct and uses lots of vintage hand-set type. I have loved this company for as long as I can remember and today when I stumbled on the Hammerpress-Boulevard Brewing Company Collaboration, I had to show it off. This beer was created for Savor 2012: an american craft beer & food experience in Washington D.C. (unfortunately only 5000 labels were created & I don't think we'll get a taste of it in the near future). This label is a work of art and I'm sure the beer is tasty too from this great brewery. See the label design process here. Don't you just love a good collaboration?

enjoy some hand lettering

I have mentioned the talented artist, Lisa Congdon, in a couple posts. Well I wanted to show off one of my favorite daily posts. Lisa is posting hand lettering every day on her blog, lisacongdon.com/blog. It's not easy to keep this up for 365 days but every day is a little surprise. She keeps it interesting with some great quotes, sweet illustrations and some lovely letters. Here are some of my favorites.

the olympics: converse style

Check out the new Chuck Taylor country series. I love the Chucks and thought this was way cooler than the other Olympic fashion out there plus I love the designs. Also if you haven't check out the Converse website lately, you need to Create your own pair ! My Chuck-loving friends have been telling me to do this for awhile and I can see how you can get hooked! Here's the Chuck's I created just for me.
